Drake is the new character of version 4.0 in Reverse: 1999, and that version has already started on the Chinese server. For anyone playing on the global side, the date is still the missing piece: the sources we checked cover the Chinese version, and none of them confirms when she lands here. Until that changes, you can get a good read on the character from what has been shown and from what players are already testing.

Who is Drake

Drake is a 6-star arcanist with the Mental damage type. The community character page on uttu describes her as support and DPS, so she can help the team and deal damage at the same time. The character simulator lists her as DPS, with release in version 4.0. Two community sources, two slightly different labels, and that is worth remembering when someone tells you she is a pure support.

The official version 4.0 story presents Drake as one of the Knights of the Round Table. Fans also noticed the name is a play on the rapper behind "Not Like Us", and the comparison with Eberhard Braun turns up in comment sections everywhere. That says nothing about how she plays, but it explains why she is already getting this much attention before most players can even pull for her.

The kit, as far as we know

The gghubs guide describes Drake as a Twilight-type support who does not consume the team's card priority and who pairs with Beryl. For us, that is the detail that matters most. A support who does not take card space from the rest of the squad is much easier to slot into a team you have already built, instead of forcing you to rebuild everything around her.

The preview videos going around on TikTok show the Arcane Skills, the Ultimate and the Extra Skill, plus the Insight stages. Watch them before spending anything, because the demonstration shows how she behaves in battle and not just the numbers on the stat page. A kit that looks strong on paper can feel awkward once the cards are actually in your hand.

What is still unclear is how much damage she adds on her own. One listing puts her in the DPS column, the other describes support work first, and that difference changes how you would build her.

Our opinion: if you already have Beryl, Drake deserves a place on your testing list. If you do not have Beryl, wait and see whether the combo holds up with other characters before you start chasing her.

Should you start saving now

A Chinese player commented that they had been saving resources since version 3.7 to get Drake. Others complained about the crafting cost of Psychubes and of Euphoria, which has become expensive to stock up on. Drake is a 6-star, so the real question is not whether she is good, it is whether she is worth the pulls you were keeping for someone else.

For F2P players, our suggestion is not to drop what is already in progress. The gghubs guide reminds you that raising Resonance on characters outside your main team, and swapping Psychubes on characters whose kits are still incomplete, are usually the first spends that set everything else back. If Drake does join your team, gather what she needs to stay strong first, without turning your whole setup over at once.

If you are on the fence, the cheapest thing you can do right now is nothing. Version 4.0 has not reached the global server, so nothing is forcing the decision today, and whatever you keep is still yours when the release date finally shows up.

What we still don't know

There is no confirmed date for Drake on the global version, and her voice actor does not appear yet on the pages we checked. When version 4.0 reaches the west, check the final numbers, because the Chinese version can still get adjustments before release here.

Until then, the simple rule for Drake is the same as for any new character: watch the kit in action, check whether your team actually needs a support, and only then decide where your resources go.
