Zenless Zone Zero
A notice from HoYoverse about the account link service between Zenless Zone Zero and Discord went up recently. With Version 3.3 on the way, the old service ends on October 14. If you linked your account a while ago, it's worth understanding what changes before that date arrives, because a few things you might rely on will simply stop working.
What stops working
After the shutdown, three things stop working: the current account link, the original service page, and the Discord status display. In practice, that means your Discord profile stops showing what you're playing in ZZZ.
The status feature is the part most players will notice. It was mostly cosmetic, but if you liked having your current in-game activity visible to friends on the server, that goes away on October 14.
There's no action on your end to undo anything. HoYoverse handles the change itself on the shutdown day, so you don't need to unlink or delete anything. The old service just stops existing.
The rewards you already claimed
Rewards you've already claimed are kept. If you grabbed something through the old service in the past, those items stay on your account and you don't lose them.
The notice also says the new service will bring its own rewards. As of this writing, though, the details of those rewards haven't been shared. There's no way to say yet what will be handed out, how much, or under what conditions.
The safe read is simple: whatever is available right now through the old service is worth claiming before October 14, and anything tied to the new service is still unknown.
When the new service starts
The new service arrives with Version 3.3, "Journey to the Sky," which launches on October 21. According to HoYoverse's announcement, from that date you link your account again to sync your in-game activity with your Discord profile.
The same date applies to the version's launch on every platform: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, Android and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with a simultaneous release on Steam.
That leaves a gap between October 14 and 21 where the old service no longer exists and the new one hasn't started. If you want your Discord status active again, wait for Version 3.3 and link once more. Trying to link in that window won't do anything, because there's no service running to receive it.
What to do now
- Check whether you've claimed the rewards available through the current service before October 14. They stay on your account after the shutdown.
- Don't expect the old link to come back. After October 14, it's gone for good.
- For the new service, wait until after October 21. Before that date, HoYoverse hasn't promised anything.
Our take is straightforward. If you only used the Discord status as decoration, nothing changes in your play routine. Your account, your progress and your pulls are unaffected. If you used the link to track rewards or events through the server, note the dates and check the official notice before touching anything. The window that matters is October 14 to 21, and that's the part worth keeping in mind.
