Arknights: Endfield hits Steam on October 15 with Sanctuary of Ink

Arknights: Endfield arrives on Steam on October 15, and the Sanctuary of Ink update, version 1.6, lands the same day. If you already play on mobile or console, what changes for you is the new story chapter and the two playable operators. If you are coming in through PC for the first time, it is the first time the game shows up on Steam at all.

When the game hits Steam

Gryphline confirmed the Steam release for October 15, and announced it together with the next free content update. The details we have do not include the exact maintenance time, so check the official notice before the day.

The game passed 300,000 wishlists on Steam, and Gryphline used that milestone to announce the date.

Progress is shared across platforms. If you already have an account elsewhere, you can keep playing on Talos-II on the PC version, and saves carry over too. You do not have to start over on the computer.

What Sanctuary of Ink brings

The story takes the Endministrators inside the Painting of Self, where brushstrokes rebuild broken paths. The chapter adds two playable operators, new combat challenges and an inn in the field that works as a rest stop between expeditions.

The two new operators are Si, who runs the Yuanyuan inn, and Argent Flow, someone the Endministrator already knows, who fights with sword, spear and mounted charges. Si can pull an Inksoul out of an enemy and shift onto it the damage and effects it takes. Both arrive through the update's banners.

What Contingency Contract changes this time

Contingency Contract returns with the Indigo Experimental Operation. Some modifiers deal more damage with combined skills, but block new combinations after every two you use. In some cases the modifier also gives enemies new attack patterns.

The version also adds gear saved in sets, more precise mouse aiming, and adjustable priority for combined skills that fire at the same time.

What changes in the factory and the farm

The development communication lists the rest. In the AIC Factory you can place a facility straight from your backpack or from any depot, or build with materials already sitting in depots. The farming area gets a top-down view mode, and plots can sit side by side with no gap between them.

The new Auto-Farmer facility plants and harvests automatically at Si's Painting farm. You unlock it through the side quest A Painting Open for Business, and it reaches the Wuling City farming area as the story moves along.

On progression, expired LTO Sanity now converts into Sanity on its own. If your cap is full, the surplus becomes Sanity Essences, which do not expire. There is also the new Gear Plan resource, which saves equipment plans per formation, and shift rotation in the cabins: each cabin can run two shifts.

Rewards you should claim before the update

The Version Guide page is already live. Its Claim Rewards button gives preview rewards in game: 1000 Oroberyl, 10000 T-Creds, 8 Elementary Cognitive Carrier and 4 Arms INSP Set. You have to be logged in with the character created to claim, each account can claim each guide's rewards once, and the rewards go to your character's mail.

The claim period ends before the version maintenance. After that, the button is gone and the rewards cannot be picked up anymore. So claim before the update if you have not done it yet.

The code ENDFIELDSTEAM also works, and gives T-Creds, Elementary Cognitive Carrier, Arms INSP Set and a commemorative portrait frame. To redeem it, open Settings, go to Platform and Account, tap Redemption Code, type it in and confirm. Each account can use it once, and the reward arrives through the in-game mail.

If you play on mobile, there is nothing to do for version 1.6 besides updating the app once maintenance ends. If you are entering through Steam for the first time, create an account or log in with the one you already have before you start.
