Wuthering Waves
The official Wuthering Waves channel published a story cinematic called What the Heart Speaks, the Heart Brings Forth on October 12. It runs a little over 10 minutes and closes out the journey that shaped the heart, the theme the story has been building since version 3.7 opened.
It is not an event and it hands out nothing. Nothing changes in your inventory or in your account. What changes is how the story reads: if you follow the plot, watch it before you push further into narrative content.
What the cinematic shows
The scene is one long, heavy speech, cut between image and voice. On the channel's auto captions you can pick out the Sentinel, the choice he has to make, and the reference to Arbiter Sentinel Sheen, the Lunar Fox, who finally makes up her mind. Those auto captions break apart in several spots, so it is safer to listen closely than to trust the text alone.
What the video makes clear is that this closes a personal story, not a system update. No date for a new story chapter appears in what we have today.
Where this sits in version 3.7
Version 3.7, Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination, went live on September 30 with the new Resonator Hsin. The version's opening cinematic, Simulacrum of the Heart, had already set up the heart theme, and the Waking Moon Festival was the update's main event.
If you have not finished the version's story yet, this cinematic helps you understand what is at stake. You do not need every chapter done to watch it, but the video lands better after you have been through the main parts. The end of a story arc like this one is also a good moment to go back and read the dialogue you skipped on the way there, because the payoff is in details that were easy to miss the first time.
What to do now
- Watch the cinematic with headphones, since the auto text drops pieces of it.
- Check whether your Union Level already lets you into version 3.7 content.
- Redeem the active code WUTHERINGGIFT, which gives Astrite x50, Premium Resonance Potion x2, Medium Revive Inhaler x2, Medium Energy Bag x2 and Shell Credits x10,000.
To redeem it, reach Union Level 2, which you get by clearing the opening of the story. Open the Terminal (Esc on PC), click the Settings gear, go to Other and choose Redemption Code. Type the code, confirm, and collect the rewards from the in-game Mail. Redemption only happens inside the game; there is no redemption page on the website. Codes usually last a few days, and no expiry date has been announced for this one.
What comes next
The next playable character is Lily. She was revealed as part of the version 3.8 lineup and presented officially as a character from Post-Lament Anthropocene: Stars Intertwined. According to the game, she has a sharp sense of smell and makes perfumes that give short dreams to heal people's psyches.
Version 3.8's release date is not in the data we have. When the official announcement arrives, we will update this article.
