Version 7.2 of Genshin Impact, Hour of Ruin, goes into maintenance on November 3 at 22:00 UTC. The official announcement gives the start as November 4 at 06:00 UTC+8, which is the same moment. Maintenance is expected to last about five hours, so the new version should be live around November 4 at 03:00 UTC. That is an estimate, not a fixed deadline.

When maintenance starts and ends

The official post says maintenance begins at 06:00 on November 4 in UTC+8, with an estimated duration of five hours. In UTC, that is November 3 at 22:00. The servers are expected back around November 4 at 03:00 UTC, but the end time is an estimate and not a fixed deadline. The new version only becomes available after maintenance ends, not at the start of the window.

If you want to finish your last tasks from version 7.1, do that before 22:00 UTC. You can also get ahead on the download: pre-installation for version 7.2 is already available, and it downloads part of the files before launch.

300 Primogems compensation

The game gives 300 Primogems as compensation, calculated at 60 Primogems per hour of maintenance. The requirement is to have reached Adventure Rank 5 by November 3 at 22:00 UTC, the same moment maintenance starts. That is the only requirement listed. If you are still below Rank 5, you cannot earn the Primogems after that time, so it is worth raising your rank before then.

The reward arrives through the in-game Mail within five hours after maintenance ends. The mail expires in 30 days, so do not leave it for later. You also need to claim the compensation before the end of version 7.2.

Phase 1 banners: Mitya and Furina

The first phase of version 7.2 has two character banners: Mitya on the Myriad Patterns Unfold Event Wish and Furina on Chanson of Many Waters. Both boost the drop rate of the same three 4-star characters, Valeriy, Charlotte and Rosaria, so choosing between the 5-stars does not change the chance of the featured 4-stars.

The weapon banner features Starsealed Edict (catalyst) and Splendor of Tranquil Waters (sword) as the featured 5-star weapons, plus five 4-star weapons with boosted rates. According to the official news, the three wishes end on November 24, 2026 at 17:59, but the notice does not state the time zone. Check the timer in the game before leaving your last pulls for the end.

Pity is shared between the two character banners and is separate from the weapon banner. Mitya and Furina are event-exclusive and do not enter the standard Wanderlust Invocation.

Who Mitya is and how he plays

Mitya, whose title is Rules Set at Naught, is a new 5-star Electro catalyst character from Snezhnaya. He is an energy specialist tied to Snezhnaya's Royal Energy Commission. His character trailer, "Mitya: Everything's in Order", came out on November 3, one day before he becomes playable.

In combat, his Elemental Skill, Principle: Variable Detection, deals AoE Electro damage and creates a Detection Core. Tapping the skill again within six seconds changes the state of that core. His Elemental Burst, Analysis: Gradient Theory, also deals AoE Electro damage and creates three Gradient Beacons.

What to do now

  • Check if your account has reached Adventure Rank 5 before November 3 at 22:00 UTC. If you are close, finish it before the servers go down.
  • Download the version 7.2 pre-installation before maintenance to save time when the servers return.
  • Finish what you need in the current version, because the servers will be offline for about five hours.
  • After maintenance, claim the 300 Primogems in the in-game Mail before the email expires.
  • If you want to pull for Mitya or Furina, check the banner end time in the game, since the official notice does not state the time zone.
