Version 1.4 Part 2 of Neverness to Everness arrived on October 21 with Akane Rin, a limited S-class Esper. Two days later the official NTE Global channel published a video showing her outfits around Hethereau. If you are still deciding whether to pull for her, or just want to know what she wears and where each piece comes from, this is the short version.
When Akane Rin arrives
Akane Rin works at the Livehouse StarSign, plays guitar in the band The Whoots!!!! and carries an Anomaly Hunter backstory that you uncover as you move through the game. She became playable with the October 21 update.
Her banner, Board Dazzling Star, stays up until November 11 at 05:59 server time (UTC+8). Her exclusive Arc, Far Side of the Moon, comes out at the same time, but only through the Celestial Special Arc program, which runs in that same window.
To unlock the character you need to finish the main quest "Prologue - A New Destination - Head to Eibon Antique Shop".
Akane Rin's outfits
The official video walks through four outfits. Each one has its own way of reaching your account:
- Cozy Velvet: sits in the Mall's permanent shop, in the fashion section. During this version it costs 1,680 Riftcrystals instead of the usual 2,480.
- Full Metal Rock: enters the permanent shop on October 28 at 06:30 server time.
- Shining Idol: comes from the Board Dazzling Star itself. Land on the right space while pulling and the outfit is yours. You can also pick it up on the Void Perks page at 50, 120 and 200 pulls.
- Off the Clock: unlocks when you get Akane Rin and reach Bond Level 10 with her.
There is also House Special, which is not sold in any shop. Anyone who created their character and unlocked mail before the end of Version 1.4 can take it from the mailbox, along with 2,000,000 Fons. It is a six-month anniversary reward, and the window closes with the version.
What changes for players
Akane Rin is a main DPS, with mid and long range attacks built around an electric guitar. Her passive, Perfect Pitch, reapplies Remora every 3 seconds once your team triggers Remora once. If you already build teams around Espers with Remora, she is a direct option.
Outside combat there are Bond Stories, house invitations and a school festival story with the band. Her Bond requests also show up in the game's text messages.
For F2P, the calmer route is to start with House Special and whatever the Board hands you, and hold your Riftcrystals instead of buying Cozy Velvet before you know you will actually use her.
What to do now
First, check your mail. House Special only appears after you update the game, and the reward has a deadline. Restart the client and the launcher before opening the game so the mailbox item shows up.
Second, look at the active codes. Right now our list has three: BLACKBIRDHERE (exclusive Blackbird avatar frame), NTENIGHT1021 (Annulith x60 and two Drift Ice Cinema tickets) and COMEBACK (Fabricated Dice x1). They are case sensitive, so type them exactly as they appear here. To redeem, open the in-game phone, tap the three-dot button, choose Redeem Code, enter the code and confirm. Rewards arrive in the mailbox, under the envelope icon.
Third, decide on the banner without rushing. The Board's end date is announced, but the game has not said whether Akane Rin returns as a rerun after November 11.
